LSU recently gave one of its students, Benjamin Hass, permission to burn an American flag as part of a "peaceful protest." And after the decision, it seemed that the students at the college could not care less. LSU’s student government president Cody Wells stated, “We’re going to respect [Hass'] First Amendment right to burn our American flag.”
Well, turns out students do care.
At the event, recorded by an LSU student and uploaded to the internet, members of the college took a stand. The video begins as Hass is flanked by two police officers on horses. He is clearly contemplating how exactly to burn the flag.
Suddenly, chants of "Go to Hell, hippie" and "USA, USA" break out across the crowd around him. Eventually, after ruckus booing, the "hippie" makes a break for it and does not burn the flag.
The video ends with cheering, applause, and shouts of "God bless America!" Awesome.

Idiotic redneck runts.
ReplyDeleteThey have their freedom of speech just like you do, it sure hurts, does it not!
ReplyDeleteHey Anonymous, your boy--the would-be flag burner--is the idiot, not the patriots lol
ReplyDeleteNext time set the liberal on fire.
ReplyDelete"Idiotic redneck runts"
ReplyDeleteSure love to see you say that to my face. Because I'd break yours.
‘Go to Hell, Hippie’ F'ing outstanding!!! I haven't smiled so much since South Park did the "Die, Hippie" episode!
ReplyDeleteRenews my faith in America's youth. Thanks LSU students.
ReplyDeleteHey Handbag, if you really don't like America then why don't you grow a set and leave? By the way, if you do leave, I think there's a nice fixer-upper in Abbottabad that you might be able to get real cheap! Perhaps they'll let you exercise your 1st Amendment rights over there.
ReplyDeletesuddenly I think I love LSU!!!
ReplyDeleteWay to go students and future leaders of America!!!
One more POS vermin run off by the OWNERS of this NATION...the citizens.
It is such a joy to see that the 60s generation, and its impact on politics and education, is finally wearing thin. Regular Americans are rising up, fighting back, and protesting more loudly than the idiot leftists. Bravo to our youth!
ReplyDeleteBravo LSU
ReplyDeleteAs always the real minority of America, those who despise it, have to cringe behind the protection of the government when confronted by the true wishes of their fellow citizens & when they show their true nature, the majority rises up & voices displeasure.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to post Tea Party world where the silent majority has decided enough is enough.

Actually Baton Rouge is coonass country, not redneck country. Get your facts straight dumbass. Oh, you're a lib, you guys aren't fond of the facts.
Everyone who showed up to threaten Hass was wrong. The only successful approach to clowns doing anything for attention is to IGNORE THEM.
ReplyDeleteProtecting what Our Flag symbolizes is FAR more important than the actions of the handful of clowns who decide they need to so something like that to make themselves the center of attraction wouldn't you say?
It's a beautiful day in America when we see the younger generation stepping up to defend the greatness of our country.
ReplyDeleteThank God for the students of LSU! It's great to see the voices of those who are proud of this country drown out the voices of those who hate and despise our nation. Merle Haggard said it best, "If you're runnin' down my country, man, You're walkin' on the fightin' side of me."
To the previous poster, you're dead wrong. Those patriots were there to defend the flag and the great nation that it symbolizes. Reading between the lines, you sound like a run-of-the-mill liberal, trying to silence the voices of dissent. The way our nation got to where we are now, with record unemployment and the daily erosion of our freedoms and our right to the rewards of our labor is through the silence and inaction of those who stand for the greatness of this nation. God bless America!!
Everyone who showed up to protest Hass was right and they were remarkably restrained in considering the typical behavior that we routinely get from the left.
ReplyDeleteThe words of Edmund Burke come to mind; not the short version but in the more verbose statement he said that "the good must necessarily join together else they will fall" and the tactic of telling the good to "IGNORE THEM" is what the left has been using for quite some time to drag this nation down.
God bless these folks from LSU and may many more of our good citizens stand up and stop the garbage from those like Hass and his sympathizers.
God bless LSU student patriots and God Bless the USA!
ReplyDeleteI believe that freedom of speech does indeed include desecrating flags, burning Qurans, putting a Crucifix in urine as 'art' - etc. If you love freedom then prove that you are strong enough to deserve it warts and all.
ReplyDeleteThe minute you pass a law to 'protect' our Flag, you will have desecrated it far more than any of these clowns ever could have imagined and handed THEM a victory because it will never fly as high again.
Acting like a bunch of thugs intimidating a lone lunatic because he doesn't happen to understand or share in our appreciation for Liberty is almost as moronic as the act of the lone lunatic. Getting enraged, claiming "mental distress" over any political view is typical of the radical LEFT. Allowing one moron to get you 'upset' makes you all appear like union thugs bused in for a town hall meeting on Obamacare.
Consider that even though there is no law against burning a Flag right now, no one save a few clowns do it. So you have to ask yourself WHY is that true?
The respect we have for our Flag requires no law because it comes from each of our own hearts. Isn't THAT something to be truly proud of? It is for me. (Chicoms cannot claim that.)
And one more thing folks, the more your react to people like Hass - the more of them will come along to do the same for attention it gets them. Ignoring them is the only sensible response; be rational.
Being from Louisiana, all I can say is, you don't go to red-neck central and pull that kind of crap. (and I mean that in a good way)
ReplyDeleteWe don't take too kindly to your type around here hippie!
The true protection of our first amendment rights - is to allow the protest of this stupid individual as well as the anti flag burning protest. Cuts both ways. We've believed for far too long that only the flag burning was a "protest" worth having. Finally, America is waking up to the idea that protecting our flag, what it stands for and the heritage that makes us exceptional ~ is also a protest worth having. Thank God for these brave students who peacefully and forcefully made their opinion known - and for illuminating the cowardice of the "hippie" flag burner.
ReplyDeleteNo, bravery is doing nothing to encourage these clowns. Those who know that there really isn't anything a person like Haas can actually do to diminish what our Flag symbolizes - know that not showing up, not reacting the way he WANTS, is the best way to treat him.
ReplyDeleteHe's just pushing your buttons and you are all falling for it.
Way to go kids run these anti-Americans back to from wherever they came. I am proud of you. Stand up for the Republic.
ReplyDeleteSpread the word and let them know this is your America who was bought and paid for in blood. Be proud of who you are. You are Americans who believe in this country and learn to shout them down as they do not intend to let you speak. Speak anyway and know what you are dealing with. All those who do not respect this American flag do not respect you or this country.
ReplyDeleteGod left us all His Ten Commandments and we are leaving you all the Republic, and the law based upon these Commandments in Truth as best we can, so continue and keep what God has ordained. This is a country to be proud of.
ReplyDeleteThe reason I am using Anomyous is because I cannot get this on here using the other. I am blackyb who is so proud of you and writing about what God left. I am not hiding, just not doing this comment thing right.
