Majority Favor Muslim Radicalization Hearings

Almost a decade after the September 11th atrocities, there are many people who have chosen to willfully forget the events of that day. One of those who have not is Congressman Peter King. King, a representative from New York, has called for the hearings about how Muslims can be radicalized in the United States.

Naturally, there are many on the Left that would like you to believe that this is all just a charade or a mad dash to single out Muslims. However, according to King, the hearings will serve to protect the citizens of the country.
Rep. King

Apparently, a majority of Americans also believe so. According to a new Gallup poll, over 50% side with the New York representative. When asked if the hearings were appropriate or not:

General Population
Appropriate 52%
Inappropriate 38%

Democrats
Appropriate 40%
Inappropriate 49%

Republicans

Appropriate 69%
Inappropriate 23%

Independents
Appropriate 51%
Inappropriate 42%

You can tell that almost half of Democrats want to ignore the situation or blame the United States first. However, it is surprising that 40% of Democrats actually support the action. There are other differences in opinions between the parties:
  • Forty-three percent of Republicans say Muslims are "supportive of the United States," while a majority of independents and Democrats agree.
  • Half of Republicans say Muslims are too extreme in their religious beliefs, while well less than half of independents (37%) and Democrats (25%) agree.
 Let's get these hearings underway.
