Smug Jerry Brown: I Will Win

Democrat Jerry Brown, apparently in an attempt to count his eggs early, has declared that he will win today against Republican opponent Meg Whitman.  Though the polls are close, and voting isn't even at its peak yet, Brown, also known as "Moonbeam," is sure of victory.

The gubernatorial race has been close in California, with Brown leading slightly in the polls.  Many expected his campaign to weaken after Brown, or a member of his campaign staff, called his opponent a "whore."  However, the controversy was largely ignored by the Main Stream Media.

If indeed he does win, it may be one of the few races that Democrats can be pleased with.  Nation-wide, Republicans are expected to make historical gains in both the Senate and House.

Here is Brown speaking at a rally yesterday, declaring victory:

Here is a short transcript of Brown's speech:

Brown: "This is our last leg.  We're going to go on and win tomorrow and it's because of your help."

Such predictions may potentially hurt Brown.  Voters who believe that the candidate they support will win easily normally have a low turnout.  Also, predictions like this may raise eyebrows and might make people wonder why Brown is so certain he has the election in the bag.  Later, Brown stated:

"After this election tomorrow, when we win, we're gonna make the sun rise in the West."

I'm honestly not even sure what this means.
