Crist Advisor: If Elected, We're Caucusing with Democrats

Republican turn-coat Charlie Crist is well behind in all Senate polls in Florida.  This comes after Crist repeatedly promised that he would drop out of the race should he lose the Republican nomination.  He did lose, to Marco Rubio, but continued to run, infuriating voters.  He is now down 20 points in the polls to Rubio.

But apparently Crist believes that he has one more ace up his sleeve: kowtowing to Democrats.  One of Crist's main advisors, John Morgon, explained that Crist no longer even thinks of voting with Republicans:

“Crist is going to caucus with the Democrats.  I don’t think there’s any ifs, ands or buts about it. It would be, in a very tight year, almost like a Democratic pickup in a solid Republican state.”

A "Democratic pickup in a solid Republican state?"  Crist is truly a pariah if he believes he can get away with this stuff.

This comes in the wake of a political scandal in which President Clinton reportedly convinced Democrat Kendrick Meek to drop out of the race, but Meek denies the report.  This new statement backs up the belief that Clinton did indeed try to get Meek to drop out, as Democrats would gain a vote with Crist's win.

At best, this declaration by the Crist campaign is questionable.  Certainly, Republicans in Florida would not vote for Crist knowing that he would intentionally go against everything he says.  Democrats, on the other hand, would avoid him because...he intentionally goes against what he says.

In the end though, it appears to not matter, as Rubio has a large lead.  When it comes down to it, Crist ran a terrible campaign, Rubio ran a good one, and Rubio will be our next Senator from Florida.
